Mountains of the Philippines

The Philippines is known for its diverse and scenic landscapes, which include numerous mountains. I can no longer count the mountains I have climbed but I never tire of exploring them even more than twice if it is interesting enough for me. Here are some notable mountains in the Philippines:

Mount Apo
Located in Mindanao, Mount Apo is the highest peak in the Philippines, standing at 2,954 meters (9,692 feet) above sea level. It is a popular destination for hikers and mountaineers, offering breathtaking views and unique flora and fauna.

Mount Pulag
Situated in Luzon, Mount Pulag is the third highest peak in the Philippines, reaching an elevation of 2,926 meters (9,600 feet). It is famous for its sea of clouds and the opportunity to witness a stunning sunrise from its summit.

Mount Mayon
Looking similar to Mt Fuji in Japan and Mt Villarrica in Chile, Mount Mayon is an active stratovolcano located in the province of Albay in Luzon. It stands at approximately 2,462 meters (8,077 feet) and is a popular destination for climbers and sightseers. Lately, it is become too touristy for my liking.

Mount Dulang-Dulang
Found in the province of Bukidnon, Mindanao, Mount Dulang-Dulang is the second highest peak in the Philippines, reaching a height of 2,938 meters (9,639 feet). It is part of the Kitanglad Mountain Range and offers a challenging climb with stunning views.

Mount Kitanglad
Also part of the Kitanglad Mountain Range in Bukidnon, Mindanao, Mount Kitanglad is the fourth highest peak in the Philippines, standing at approximately 2,899 meters (9,511 feet). It is known for its rich biodiversity and is a protected area and watershed.

Mount Kanlaon
I climbed this mountain at least twice. Situated in Negros Island, Mount Kanlaon is an active stratovolcano and the highest peak in the Visayas region, reaching an elevation of 2,435 meters (7,989 feet). It is a popular destination for hikers and offers scenic views of its crater and surrounding landscapes.

These are just a few examples of the many mountains found in the Philippines. The country offers a wide range of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers to explore its stunning mountain landscapes. I have climbed them all and I cannot really say which one is more beautiful than the other. Each one has something to offer that the other one cannot. One thing is for sure: the mountains of the Philippines have humbled me for the better.
